What is a true friend?

Posted by Crystal

True friend? Hmmm.... I would say I have a handful of them to be thankful for! But how do you define it?

That's a tricky one. I've tried my best at being one (still working on it too) , I've had some pretty close ones and some that fooled me. But the best way for me to explain it is through my own experience with one of them.

This is Brenda... my longest true friend. She and I started off as roommates because of the need to share rent in college. (We played basketball against each other in high school and we were rivals) - Of course we hit it off instantly! :) Not that we didn't have our breakout arguments but there was a bond that obviously survived. We've gone through wild and crazy college days together... relationships that came and went... nearly becoming shark food in the Pacific Ocean, and way too much that I can't even begin to tell! But I feel that what has made her a true friend is she's always accepted me for who I am. She has never looked down at me or judged me (even though she has more trash on me than the tabloids have on Brittney). She is always there to listen and encourage, to offer her help, to laugh at me and give advice and most importantly to say she loves me when I need to hear it. Brenda knows everything about me... EVERYTHING! She has an energy that I wish I could replicate, bottle and sell.

Many people say we look like sisters. You think? I just need brown contacts! Even BJ was amazed and shook his head. What's funny is we never dressed alike or had hair styles anywhere near each other's when we hung out for all those years! One of the nights this weekend we got dressed to go out for a nice dinner and we almost had the exact same outfit on (this isn't that night). We had a good laugh at that!

Check out her pet! Yep it's a kangaroo. His name? Joey of course. He's so sweet! Just amazed me to watch him hop around the house and interact with us. She trained him to use a litter box!!! He's definitely spoiled! Brenda takes him places like most people take their little dogs. He climbs up in a pouch she bought that is meant for a newborn. He went to the nail salon with her and she had his nails done too. Can you see the neon green? I'm sure it made Lil'Joey feel confused. :)

I had an awesome, recharging weekend away with my husband and dear friend. I'm not as excited to be back home to the loads of laundry, grades to tally and conferences to prepare for -but I can't complain too much after a treat like this! Hope all of you have a great week!
I am thankful for you!

What crazy lady would have a Kangaroo as a pet? Oh, that would be me! I know, I know, this is what you get when you go looking to replace your rabbit that passed and a cute little wallaby steals your heart!
Most importantly I want to write about my best friend in this world, Crystal Wilson. She is a true blessing in all of our lives. She amazes me everytime I see her with her charisma, charm and beauty. She makes me laugh! She has a heart of gold and is passionate about the things that are important. Look at her family and see the resemblence of charisma, charm and beauty.. It can be duplicated without the cost of cloning! Enough or this will become my blog!

It's great to hear that you had such a good time! It's important to rest up and relax before this craziness called "the end of the trimester" begins! =)
