Ahhhh..... Spring!

Posted by Crystal

I'm in a good mood... the grass is mowed and feels like velvet... the vases are full of beautiful white flowers from my yard... the sunshine is warming my toes as the evening breeze whispers by.... Ahhh, I love Spring!

Here are a few moments of the season captured- One being the banner with Mr. Bee...

Fresh cut grass is sooooo nice!

These are growing in poofs on the side of my house. I cut a bunch tonight and let the kids deliver flowers to neighbors... what fun!

Does anyone know what this is??? Is it a weed? It has purple blooms but I wasn't sure~

I have ideas for this corner... some kind of water feature, fountain or waterfall. I haven't quite figured it out yet but still dreaming. If you have something in mind, I'd love to hear ideas!!!

Robyn and I in our 2nd 5K run. Butte Challenge in Hermiston. We're all smiles before the race!

And we're off! But notice who's not smilin' below! This is right at the finish line....

I know God chose you to be my mother, my friend and my fellow sister in Christ. I definitely wasn't a proper 'princess' all the time but one thing I do know is that I was your 'baby'. Your baby has grown up and as I try to figure out how to keep this household in order, cook the meals, run the kids to practice, manage work, attempt a social life and stay committed to church- I just can't help but admire you for making it look so easy. I now know that it wasn't. I'm so proud of you. You have experienced so much as a mother of 5! Disappointments, heartache, loss... I can't even imagine. But through it all, you've shown God's love to us and still do. You will leave a legacy in my heart and I can only hope to pass along a little bit of you to my own daughters and son. You are one amazing lady and you don't hear that enough. So I hope it penetrates into your bones- you are a wonderful mother.

I love you! Have a great Mother's Day!

Grace,

I am so thankful that God has blessed me with you as a mother-in-law. You have such insight and overwhelming love for your family. Thank you for mothering me at times. I'm amazed at the gentleman you have raised to be such a wonderful husband. I know you played a role in helping develop many of his strengths! Happy Mother's Day to you. I love you!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there. Whether you are a mother (yet) or not!

Where's Crystal Been?

Gone!
It feels like I've deserted my family for the last week and a half. I went to Tucson for a wonderful educational conference that was by far one of the best conferences I've ever attended. Learned a lot about the newest technology to use in my classroom! Here's a picture that my colleague just had to take on the side of the road. That resort in the background was where they "wined and dined" us! It's amazing! All inclusive.
If you ever want to go there, my partner and I found our way around Tucson in a rental car and a small hotel map... let me just say, we saw some places more times than we wanted to and eventually we became very good at getting around! Which says something because neither one of us is really good at that type of driving. We are both used to being spoiled and "chauffered"!
Here's the view from some of the balconies there.

Some one had their wedding here the night before... bet that was a site- since straight out from the arbor is a view of all of Tucson!

I returned late Sun. night and got up early to start my short week of school since yesterday and today was Outdoor School for our 5th graders. Nothing like one lack-of-sleep event to another! It was fun though. You really get to know another side of the student when you get them out of those school walls! I wish I could post some of the pictures I took of the kids doing all kinds of crazy stuff... but unfortuately I can't.

Old cabins...
35 degree FAST moving water...
and my teaching buddy... Ann. It all adds up to a great first experience. Ann has had 20+ experiences at this! I don't know how she does it again and again with such love for these kids. She has really embraced me this year since I'm learning so much about teaching 5th graders! I don't think she was quite ready for this snapshot. HA!
I came back early today to see Morgan do the May Pole event. All 3rd graders did this. It's quite amazing to see in action and turns out so beautiful! She smiled when she saw me. She worried I wouldn't make it back in time from Outdoor School. Helps to bum an early ride from the principal! I've got connections... ;)

I feel like I miss out on so much when I haven't blogged! It doesn't mean I'm not keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers!
